    Dear Readers,
Welcome to our Fall 2006 issue of Careers Santa Barbara online. I hope you will enjoy the features and information contained herein as much as I did.

Our feature article in this issue was written by News-Press Classified Sales Manager, Rachel Samson. Rachel chronicles the challenges of being a young professional in Santa Barbara, and some of the keys to success. To research her work, she interviewed two bright stars in our community, Lisa Cantello and Colleen Breen, two young ladies with hearts as big as their smiles. But Rachel's contribution is bittersweet to all of us who have worked alongside her these past two years, as she leaves the News-Press and Santa Barbara this week for the wide expanse of Texas and the prospect of some undivided time to dedicate to her soon-to-be-completed novel. (No pressure, Rachel!) Rachel is a dear friend, and has been a consummate professional here in the News-Press Classified Department. We will miss her and wish her the very best.

Along with the other articles and company profiles, the advertisers contained in Careers Santa Barbara offer a wealth of information about local companies and employers. Use the links to their websites to explore these opportunities and find out more. Whether you're a young professional, mid-career, ready to make a change, or living your dream job, we hope you will find something to entertain, educate, or just make you think.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this section, and to all of you for reading! Sincerely,

    Sarah Sinclair
